I have a 27 "WQHD 144 Hz monitor, when I play Fortnite with WQHD everything runs smoothly (mostly over 144 FPS) but I play with a lower resolution then everything runs faster, everything feels a bit" spongy "on WQHD on, does anyone know why that could be?
WQHD simply eats up more power.
But I have enough FPS
Perhaps you have accidentally changed other settings and it is because WQHD simply makes the image sharper compared to HD
I would be interested in which components you have in it?
Ryzen 5 2600 rx580 series 8 RAM and Samsung M2 500 GB SSD, but actually get well over 144 FPS with WQHD (limited to 160)
I haven't changed anything, at least not consciously
Maybe the 1% dips are just a lot more often that's why you have stutters in between.
But why is it like that all the time, feels like V-sync
Nobody can tell you that, maybe hope for good luck and uninstall the drivers with DDU and install them manually.
