I've been doing Youtube for about a year and have always recorded on the PS4 with 1080 @ 60 and then cut and uploaded on my laptop.

Now I've bought a powerful PC with the RTX3080.

I can use it for example. Fortnite in WQHD @ 180 or Modern Warfare @ 120 Zocken and that's why I bought a WQHD monitor with 165 Hz. Now to my question:

Because of my screen, I can only display WQHD but I would feed OBS Fortnite or MW as 4k to record and upload it.

What do I have to adjust so that it works? And how much FPS should I expect?

Alright, you set the resolution of the game and monitor (the game should even be enough) just high.

The problem is that WQHD is 4xHD and UHD or QFHD is 4xFHD.
This can't be scaled without losses, so the picture could possibly look slightly blurred to you.

But WQHD is enough to upload thick.
Don't think that the QFHD variant will be missing for many, the monitors are not that common yet.
As soon as 4k144Hz becomes affordable, maybe. But beforehand you buy e.g. For gaming I prefer WQHD144Hz

Forget it graphics card must then scale up and down to discard frames because you will only record with 60 fps and then encoding via nvec because do also ne 30 rtx thick bake and small tip set the hz to 120 should always be through the recording fps be divisible! At 30 fps you can of course also use 150!
