I've had an Acer Predator notebook for a few years now, which gets pretty hot when I play.

I have owned it for a few years now, but is it normal for it to reach temperatures of up to 98 degrees in e.g. Rainbow Six Siege or Fortnite?

Have you dusted him off lately? Grade laptops gather dust pretty quickly. And due to the attracted dust, the cooling performance deteriorates.

De

The notebook was last dusted 1 year or so ago so I can't imagine that it's because of it.

But, as I said, that is quite possible. Notebooks gather dust faster than stand-alone PCs. And before you spend money on any additional fans, I would dedust the device again. After all, 1 year is a long time.
