So my mouse broke and I therefore switched off my PC jz several times (5-8 times) with the button, since then it is mega slow z. B Shutting down takes forever until the same thing happens when starting up. My games suddenly crashed in games. It has never been like this before. Urgent help please
For example, at Fortnite, the loading bar goes up very quickly and is now connected to 5-8 minutes with less FPS. Everything loads forever and it's funny since these problems have never been before
But I don't have the best PC either
GTX 960
I5 2320
8GB Ram
WIN10
I'm not a computer genius, so please help
See if all components are recognized
Event Viewer

mistakes are your problem, ignore distribution
So my CPU and GPU and everything else is recognized?
Defragment the HDD vlt times
Do you mean by "with the button off" that you held it down or just tapped it once?
I only have an SSD built in. The hdd is external and only 2 weeks old
Hold down
Okay, then try to run a diagnostic program on your ram if necessary - maybe make a benchmark and compare the results with the same components. I recommend Cinebench to benchmark the CPU and see if the performance is far below other models. I would do the same for the GPU.
During the regular shutdown, open files are finally closed and index files are completed, information for the next start is stored and the like. If you simply switch it off, these tasks remain unfinished. When restarting, the system can determine this, but can't continue working without the missing data because important information for this has not been saved. The system now tries to repair the damage globally by checking everything again. Because possibly If not everything could be repaired, the damage will probably be greater the next time and the attempt to repair will take longer. So the startup is getting slower and at some point the PC can't do it at all.
And what am I supposed to do now? I completely reset my PC? There's nothing on it and it takes up to 10 minutes
What do I do if it falls below the performance of the models?
Then it is probably defective or about the component or netmay really run smoothly. Could just mean that Windows is buggy again. If in doubt, reinstall Windows before you give something away / buy new.
Everything is currently breaking for me.
A possible damage, e.g. Not fixed on the damaged file system. Everything is only started unconditionally, nothing is repaired.
It's like a car when the engine dies and you start it again. If you have a piston eater, it won't start. Only when you have a new engine.
So you would have to reformat the partition and reinstall the system. The latter includes the option to format.
If you have important data on it, you must first bring it to safety. Either you have a free partition on your disk or you get an external hard drive or a correspondingly large USB stick. You may have to reinstall your programs. Many can't simply be transferred by copying because settings are stored in the system during installation and are no longer available when the system is set up again.
Do I then need a new Windows license? I have an external SSD and I don't need anything on the PC
You definitely need a license if it is WIN-10. Older systems can be downloaded completely free of charge if necessary.
However, you can try to back up your system and then restore it. It could be, if there are little things, that these will be repaired.
Can't I use my old Windows 10 Pro Edition again and where can I see the code?
If you have an installation CD, yes. And there should be the code somewhere.
Hm
