I currently have a fx 6300 and gtx 1050, the CPU slows down with me, I think the graphics card therefore, I would like to get a new CPU would be worth an i5 9400f or would there be something better for less money? (I would like to be able to play fortnite fluently)

I would recommend you an AMD Ryzen 5 2600. He has an optimal price-performance ratio.

Please upgrade the GTX 1050 too.
