Hi
Have an old PC in the basement, wanted to ask what such an 8-year-old PC still worth.
This PC is relatively old and well, not so good.
This PC has been upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, it has an AMD Athlon II 215 processor,
a Radeon HD 4600 Series graphics card, 2GB memory, and a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P BaseBoard.
Have him tested times he ran relatively well maybe he was sometimes overloaded if you, things too fast!
Sims4 on HD was fine, Fortnite is not compatible.
What would you get for it?
Or is nothing worth more and I can give it to my grandmother?
The part can give away, is in fact worthless.
Or you throw out the bad technology and make a case modd
Well, I currently have a gaming PC, this was just my first PC I found a few days ago.
Here is a tip:
Such an old PC can be useful with a Linux distribution. For example, Lubuntu. This is an official Ubuntu-devirat and 100% compatible. Even with only 2GB of RAM, this is extremely fast. Windows, on the other hand, is a lame duck. With less than 4GB of RAM you should take the 32bit version. Here is the download: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/...p-i386.iso This is the current stable long-term support version.
Then write this ISO to an empty FAT32 formatted USB stick with this https://unetbootin.github.io/ tool.
If you can't boot from USB, there's a solution: To do this you need the Plop Boot Manager which you can download here: https://download.plop.at/files/bootmngr/plpbt-5.0.15.zip Unpack the Zip and then the plpbt.iso (the other files are not important) with this tool http://www.freeisoburner.com/ Burn to a blank CD. Now you have a boot-CD containing a USB bootloader.
First connect the PC via network cable with the router and then boot the stick. Just follow the instructions of the installer. He installs the internet right away and offers the possibility to completely delete the hard disk. I recommend a full installation. One should also select the item third-party software. The latest Firefox, Libreoffice, multimedia components and tools will be installed right away. After completing the installation and the first start, the Update Manager will appear at the bottom of the taskbar. One should install these updates. The updating can also be completely automated so that it runs in the background.
How to install programs: Start Menu> System Tools> Software. This is like a kind Appstore and is also served.
Install the Flashplayer only if you absolutely need it. Otherwise you should do without flash. This is how it works: Start Menu> System Tools> LXTerminal. This is the command line. Enter the following command and then press Enter:
sudo apt install flashplugin-installer -y
This installs a script that always automatically downloads and installs the latest Flashplayer from the Adobe page.
About 10 euro if you find one who takes the.
Just wanted to say that you explained that very well. Understandable for every beginner.
