I'm currently downloading Fortnite from EpicGames Launcher on my PC and it takes a long time until everything is ready. Can I shut down my PC or delete everything when I do that?
Nope, unfortunately you always have to have your PC switched on for Epic Games installations, sorry.
The downloaded data is saved on the hard drive. When you shut down your PC, nothing is deleted.
No, everything was gone for me, e.g. When I Installed Fortnite and then turned off the PC.
The download is simply canceled. What has already been downloaded will of course not be deleted. The PC can't even if it's off. It just doesn't help you because the download doesn't just continue when it boots up.
During a Steam download I shut down my PC several times and nothing was deleted. I'll try it out briefly on Epicgames.
Yes, it was the same on Steam. But at Epic Games it didn't / never worked for me.
Nothing is deleted, but a switched off PC can't continue the download / installation. Then you have to start the download / installation again later.
So, I've tried it now. Nothing is deleted there. Everything I downloaded is still there.
Fake news.
I'm getting aggressive. Read through @Shalidor's answer. My Fresssee… And that's how I mean it.
No.
But.
No. I'll tell you in detail so that you even understand something:
No, you can't. You can't switch off the PC during an installation because (as the questioner pointed out) the installation is not even complete. All of the data must first be downloaded. Do you understand anything else, or why do I have 2 people whom I also helped?
And besides, "fake news" has nothing to do with it. You're just an annoying guy who doesn't care about your own business. And please go.
The question from the questioner was whether all data that had already been installed would be deleted by switching off. It can be seen from your answer that they will be deleted. And that's not true.
