Windows virus protection necessary?

It is important to have virus protection on your Windows 10. My has expired and you have to pay 31 euro and that lasts 1 year. It seems to me that since I no longer have the virus protection the PC is a little different. So when I play a game like Fortnite, it crashes. And before that I had the virus protection never happened. Or the PC is slow for a brief moment then it goes again.

I would appreciate an answer

The built-in Windows 10 Windows Defender is enough! You do not need another program anymore. Look, if the Defender is activated.

Ca

Do not spend money on virus protection! Completely unnecessary. Win10 defender goes completely together with brain.exe and possibly ublock origin / noscript in the browser!

An antivirus program may make your system even more vulnerable.

Ok, thanks, I'll check it out now

Thank you

Windows 10 has excellent antivirus protection on board: Defender.

So uninstall your AV program and the Defender is automatically active!

Wr

The Windows Defender has done its homework and evolved into a top antivirus. Just activate this and it's good

cl

Do you know how to activate it

cl

Can you tell me how to uninstall it? : 'D I do not know myself that way

Be

Go over settings for security, because the Defender should be listed. You should uninstall your "old virus protection", whatever you have, normally the Defender will activate itself.

Be

Which virus protection do you currently have?

cl

McAfee Antivirus Plus

Thank you

It can be completely removed only with a removal tool, e.g. From Chip.de:

https://www.chip.de/...16074.html

Sw

1) Control Panel → Programs and Features: McAfee… Select and choose "Uninstall"

2) Restart the computer

3) To remove all McAfee backlogs on the machine, download and run the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool (MCPR) on the McAfee page (step 2).

4) Restart computer, done. The Defender is now active.

cl

Thanks, I'll do it tomorrow. Maybe then I notice an interscjeid, because at games for example fortnite crashes it

Sw

The crashes do not necessarily come from the McAfee, you have to look tomorrow…

The Defender of Windows 10 is enough completely. For emergencies I would recommend creating a Kaspersky Rescue USB Bootstick. It works like this:

Install this tool: https://www.balena.io/...io/etcher/ This is called balenaEtcher, so you can create bootable USB sticks.
Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk ISO: https://support.kaspersky.com/de/viruses/krd2018

Insert a blank formatted USB stick.
start balenaEtcher. Then open the Kaspersky Rescue Disk ISO at Select Image, select the stick at Select drive and then click on Flash. The stick is now created.
When the stick is finished, just boot this stick and scan the system.

cl

Yes, but they have started since I no longer have this virus protection
