Could it be because the game is free and many Fortnites players can't afford better games because they don't get enough pocket money?
Are there people who actually prefer Fortnite?
Are many Fortnites players not yet so good at shooting and therefore prefer a game with no ball ballistics and little recoil?
So I'm generally not a guy who likes to play PvP, but there are definitely better PvP games, see Warzone for example. Then how can it be that so many people play Fortnite and the worst thing is spending money on it.
It is very popular in itself, with YouTubers and streamers. It's free (except for the skins, etc.) - it's always very appealing, not without reason that Epic made so much money from it.
These damn YouTubers today!
Ingame purchases are still forbidden ^^
I think Fortnite is so popular because, firstly, the "childlike" graphics rather appeal to the younger audience and secondly, many parents are more likely to be willing to let their child play a "childlike" looking game than e.g. Warzone
Understand. Looting is also not difficult for anyone, since the objects are all highlighted properly. You can't overlook items.
Many like Fortnite more than other shooters. In Fortnite there are e.g. Building, that doesn't exist in the form of other shooters. I'm not saying that I think Fortnite is the best shooter.
In addition, Fortnite is from 12, while most other shooters are from 16 or 18. And yes, it is certainly also because it is free. I'm also one of those who tries to get games (legally) for free. ^^
But I assume you get games that "actually cost something" for free. It's only half as wild
Could it be because the game is free and many Fortnites players can't afford better games because they don't get enough pocket money?
Certainly not. Many Bundesliga professionals perform and play some Fortnite dances. They will surely have enough money to buy other games.
Then how can it be that so many people play Fortnite and the worst thing is spending money on it
Because it's just a trend. That goes away again.
@TheCrapper
I often just go to Steam, set the price to "free" and see if I find something relatively good or entertaining. ^^
Hopefully the trend will go away.
So I would actually worry about that.
Simply ignore. Should they gamble that? I tried it 1-2 times, but that's not my case. I'm probably not in my target group when I'm in my mid-30s ;-)
Fortnite was a pretty good game, although of course it's always a partial subjective rating. I don't know what the game looks like today. I stopped ages ago because new content that was added through updates no longer appealed to me.
I think that the number of people who are constantly buying new skins refutes the pocket money argument.
Comparing goals in first- and third-person shooters is always one thing. With Fortnite, it soon became clear that the skill ceiling when building was higher than shooting. You can have a great aim when you play against someone who can build quickly and well. He wipes the floor with you.
Incidentally, you refute your pocket money argument yourself at the end of your question…
I not only have free games, but also games that are chargeable and therefore good. E.g. Crash Bandicoot, Rayman Legends, Cuphead, Geometry Dash, Minecraft…
I also have a few games on my Wii U.
Often I just don't feel like spending money on something and first look for things that are fun and cost no money.
You're right. I think I'm starting to understand why Fortnite is so popular, even if I can't understand it.
You can say that out loud! Hehe.
That is probably reasonable.
Because it's just a trend. That goes away again.
It is not a trend. It's just a popular game. Well, maybe the Fortnite dances. Not everyone has to like it.
You just didn't seriously mean that you understand it but can't understand it? You just said two contradictory things…
Fortnite will not go away as long as it delivers good content and they have been doing this for 3 years and have become rich with it. So why should they stop?
The words can't be defined right away, Otto
So I think the new content has worsened the game, but is probably a matter of taste.
