External hard drive takes after some time ne time out?

As the title suggests, my external will eventually go into sleep mode. I guess after 1-2h.

How can I disable this?

Have my games on the external on it and Fortnite always crashes after 1-2h, because the external is just in sleep mode and jo. Boom.Crash XD

Fr

Get the external hard drive up and running.

Lu

Could you try using the advanced power options of Windows to check whether selective energy saving is enabled.

However, if the hard drive switches itself into a saving mode, you will not be able to do much about it.

ro

This is u.a. One reason why you should not install programs on external hard drives.

You should deactivate the function "Settings for selective USB energy saving" in the power settings.

If connected via USB and an operating system from Microsoft

Gu

Well, I'll do it. XD is just cool. And at Fifa I have no problems.

Gu

I thank you too. Werds time to try.

Gu

I would have to execute almost any hype command. (ok, if ne option ne empty bat would be, if necessary)

Fr

Ok then start it again.

Gu

Btw. How can you prevent that? Every time I start the laptop, the external one starts and then the windows open. How can I prevent the windows from opening (the external should still be running)?

Fr

That must come automatically, because the hard disk was started.

Gu

Can you prevent that? That bothers me… That should run, but do not make a mum must click away every time. ^^

Fr

No you can't.

ro

With a little thought, you would also know why this is different with Fifa.

Gu

With a little thought you would also know that you could save yourself such expressions, and explain to me without the profiling.

well… ^^

ro

Sorry, the coolness is too much for me

Ga

Press the Windows key and search for "AutoPlay".
Then select "Do no action" on the removable disk.

After that, you will no longer see the window on any removable media unless you open it manually.

Ga

Well, I'll do it. XD is just cool.

Cool would be a working solution.
Yours does not seem to work.

gugart is right, you just do not install games on external disks.
