One said to me I should limit to 60fps in fortnite because my monitor has 60Hz and if I set 144fps is the unnecessary power and it could come to laggs. Is that correct? New 144Hz screen will be something at Christmas
what should I do? Lg
144 fps = 144 hz monitor this is power that is unnecessarily wasted because your 60hz screen is only 60fps. (overclock possible but does not make much of 5 fps)
Just turn vsync and 60 fps into games and the game will run smoother.
It's better to have a higher frame rate - because your monitor will always display the latest image.
See, e.g.
But have only 60hz
Does not matter let the FPS simply unlimited.
if your monitor "only" supports 60hz then theoretically synonymous 60 FPS would be enough
So what?
Yes and no,
theoretically you are right first, of course, more pictures are not displayed.
However, you have another problem: At 60 fps, the individual images are not constantly all 0.0167s, but the times between images may vary. As a result, the picture is then a little more restless.
If you now get a lot more pictures, it is sorted out through the screen, and so the differences in the time intervals between the pictures are sort of smoothed out, as he can always take the latest picture.
So can still bring a little something. Experience shows that the difference beyond 60 fps is actually visible only in test sequences, after that the whole thing eventually goes beyond what you can still perceive.
On a screen with 10Hz, however, you could still detect this effect very clearly.
For games like Fortnite, where reaction time is important, it makes sense.
For example, if you do not have things like vsync, a 60hz monitor will not play real 60fps at 60fps, as the graphics card images are not "delivered" perfectly.
More fps provide even with a 60hz monitor a fluessigeres image. But remembering that is not so easy.
So that means? Prefer to set 120fps though 60Hz?
You can also leave the FPS unlimited, that does not bother you. If you want to limit it, 120 will not be wrong. 100fps but certainly enough. If you have something like Vsync, it does not matter anyway.
