Why has my PC been slower for 2-3 months?

I have a question for PC freaks. I have a GTX 1060 6 Gb and an AMD FX 8300 eight core. I have an HDD and no SSD in the PC, plus 16 GB RAM. In the beginning everything went very quickly and with extremely good FPS in Fortnite. The whole thing has lasted a year and a few months, but for 2-3 months I have had FPS drops to 30 and can hardly keep the 60 FPS at low settings. Now my question is whether I don't have an SSD, or rather not because it used to go well without it? If the whole system slows down from time to time without an SSD, thank you for your answers.

Is the CPU or GPU getting too hot?

Depending on the updates, the demands of the games can also increase.

Defragment your drives, make Windows as empty as possible.

So an HDD shows the aging. Then everything would have to load more slowly. However, I doubt that you will get frame drops. Take a look in the Task Manager at Autostart, maybe there are too many programs opening.

Maybe you can also help reinstall Windows.

So I would first update the driver and possibly also vacuum dust from the computer. And I would recommend deactivating the autostart via Task Manager for some programs

So I think mostly it is more because Windows has somehow slowed you down. Maybe littered because of full programs installed. Only one thing helps: clean the operating system / tidy up or reinstall. Then it should run faster again.

In fact everything is slower, takes a really good 3-5 minutes until I can open something when I start the PC.

Ok, yes, then your hard drive will slowly give up the ghost. In any case, do not hesitate and move a backup of all data to another hard drive / USB stick or another PC.

Otherwise, at some point you will no longer be able to access it. There are a few more tricks, but it may also not work with them because the hard drive has virtually destroyed itself.

So before you continue playing or doing anything, make a backup of the important things first!

Then you can buy an SSD, you will also be amazed how quickly the PC starts in Windows. A few seconds, then it'll work. You can also buy a small 60GB-120GB SSD for Windows and a larger HDD for your other stuff.

SSDs are also less expensive. From 30 euro you can find small ones. I myself have 2 SSDs 128GB and 256GB and a 4TB HDD. All programs on the SSDs and the other stuff on the HDD.
