I currently have a Xeon X5650 on 4.02Ghz and 12GB of RAM (2x4GB + 2x2GB).
Since the CPU is too slow for me to play and it often comes to FPS Drops especially with Fortnite and the GPU is then at 70%, it is probably clear that it is due to the CPU. Have the Noctua NH D14 cooler.
My budget would be so max. 200 euro with motherboard. Since I have DDR3 RAM it must be a MB with DDR3 banks. I would have thought of an i5 4670k. Or vll a i7 3770k if I get a good offer. What do you all mean?
My GPU is a R9 280X (I'd like to switch to an RX 580 8GB soon, or wait for the new AMD cards)
Power supply has 850 watts so it should not fail.
Watch the AMD keynote at CES tomorrow at 6pm
Is the thermal compound in order? And what about the temperature?
Actually, the CPU should be enough for Fortnite. For me it even ran on a much slower Phenom ii4 925th
So the problem has to be somewhere else, I think.
The CPU has 55 degrees while gambling. I also have the feeling that although I have a 1ms monitor, the response time is slower than on my system with a GTX 1080 and an i7 7700k. Have seen a video and there was that the frame times of the CPU (with the same GPU) by 10ms slower than a 8700k were. This reaction time is the actual upgrade
That will not affect the used prices!
Oh, okay… That's really weird, maybe you just have to rewrite the system, often fixing all the problems.
So the best thing would be an i7 4790k. It's about 30% faster than your Xeon, so not that much! Is it really strange that these problems occur with you. In Task Manager, only the game draws on the performance of the CPU? Often it is due to the virus program or Windows background processes
I myself have an e5649 Xeon on an X58 MSI board with a RX 470 4GB and 6 x 2 GB = 12 GB RAM in Triple Channel mode.
My CPU clocks at 6 x 4 GHz with 12 thrads.
I can't find the slightest drops or other hangers with me.
I suspect something does not fit with your software.
I play with 1080p on Epi.
My CPU load shows = boring
I suspect a problem with your GPU.
Have no virus program but since the single core performance is the same as my i5 750 to 4.14GHz in another PC, it is really miserable (120 points at Cinebench). A few cores are then at 100% and a few at 30-70
Hmm… Unfortunately, I do not know what value for the CPU in Cinebench would be normal, but Fortnite is a game that you can almost play on ner potato, as long as the graphics card was not intended by 2010 for Office.
I would definitely reinstall Windows first if that does not help then then off to the i7!
The e5649 Xeon OC 4 GHz is only 20% below a RYZEN 1600 in the CB15.
In the MultiCore in the CB15 the Xeon with 4 GHz is close to 1000 points.
And as I wrote above, my CPU is bored with Fortnite.
Should I prefer to upgrade to a RX 580 or try it with my beloved 1080?
Well, if you already have them there, I would plug into the system for testing. Your power supply has enough power.
