Find components for fortnite at 240 FPS?

Can I get a component for a cheap price with which I could play 240 FPS on low settings (should only be a gaming pc that is suitable for playing Fortnite)?

All healthy and happy holidays

Fl

240fps is difficult because of the CPU alone…

So

Cheap is a relative term.

If you don't give us an exact budget, I can only say that with my i9 9900K and my RTX 2070 Super I create constant 240 frames per second almost permanently.

Gu

And could you tell me all the components (mainboard etc.)

Gu

Can't I use AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.60 GHz?

Fl

That will probably not be enough unless you cool it with a custom WaKü that runs 2 420mm radiators with push and pull configuration and then overclock it.

Gu

And my budget would be around 1k

Bo

Only the CPU is relevant on low, since Fortnite only uses two threads, so you need high IPC and clock, think with the 3300x you should get 200-280 fps, depending on the scene and viewport, possibly overclocking a bit.

The GPU is low on low, as I said, because I assume that you have a 240Hz panel, I assume full HD, a 1650 Super for 140/150 euro is sufficient.

You should also not fix yourself on the value, Hertz and fps have only limited interaction with each other, fps is an average value, the individual frames all have different frame times, Hertz is a periodic signal, at 240Hz the comes about every 4.2ms Swap. In order to actually display 240 different full images on a 240 Hz panel, you need significantly more fps than the image repetition, Pi times thumb at least 50% more. But that should not make fps in the 200 range bad.

Gu

Could you send me the link?

Fl

How?

Gu

I wanted to get an Nvidia GTX 1660 super oc (1-Click) with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.60 GHz

Gu

From the cooler

So

Unfortunately, this doesn't work out for 1000 euro.

I recommend an i5 10600K and an RTX 2060 Super or GTX 1660 Super.

The user "KolnFC" already explained in his answer why a good CPU is more important than a lot of graphics power.

If someone comes here and thinks a Ryzen 5 3600 or other processor from AMD would be better: No. The i5 10600K has such a good single core performance that the distance between Intel and AMD is huge, especially in this scenario.

Gu

Thanks for your comment

Fl

YOU already know that such a set costs around 600-700 euro? It was obviously fun.

Gu

Ah ok I will write the components that I will use and buy

Gu

-GTX 1660 super oc

-Intel i5 10600

-G.Skill 16 GB aegis DDR 4

-2 TB Toshiba hard drive

-240GB Patriot burst (SSD)

-500 watts be quiet!

-MSI B450M pro-VDH

Housing is unimportant

Gu

Not really 😅

Gu

If things don't fit please tell me

Bo

You can do that the 3600 is a good CPU, it is also stronger than a 3300x, however the 3300x would (actually) be better for Fortnite (because of higher clock and monolithic design).

You definitely have to overclock the 3600 and faster memory is also a must, use 3.6GHz CL18 or even CL16 (e.g. RipJaws V are cheap).

Get a B550 board, they have an excellent phase design and do not cause any problems with very fast RAM. The Gigabyte B550M is available for around 80 euro.

E.g. This config:

Gu

Which one do you mean exactly for 3.30 GHz or for 4.10 GHz?

Gu

But wouldn't the other comments make an Intel configuration better?

Gu

-GTX 1660 super oc

-AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.60GHz

-G.Skill 16 GB aegis DDR 4

-1 TB Toshiba hard drive

-240GB Patriot burst (SSD)

-500 watts be quiet!

-MSI B450M pro-VDH

Housing is unimportant

would these components not be good (mainboard etc.)

Bo

CPU & GPU are identical, so the config is very similar.

If I bought a new one, I would rather use a PCIe SSD instead of SATA, they are faster and hardly more expensive in the case of the A2000.

beQuiet is only a brand that Pure Power 11 500W would be interesting for you, in my config is the Seasonic SSP-450RT because it is extremely cheap to buy (is also a gold certified power supply). You can take any gold, platinum or even titanium certified power supplies from 400W from beQuiet, Antec, Seasonic, Silverstone or SuperFlower, normally beQuiet is the cheapest, now I've just found something cheaper.

The phase design of the MSI B450 boards is always identical and pretty good, but the Pro VDH does not have a particularly good SpaWas cooling, the Gigabyte B550M is clearly better in terms of power supply and cooling.

Aegis memory of both the 3GHz and the 3.2GHz is quite fast and especially Very cheap, but since you are dealing with Fortnite, you should try to push the CPU latency as far as possible and it is worth 30 euro more for 3.6GHz CL16 memory, the RipJaws V are still affordable.

Core i has a lower IPC and therefore less efficiency, but can be clocked higher. For Fortnite, a high single-thread performance is beneficial, because the i5 10600k would be suitable, but you can also get a 3600XT with the same boost for the price, so the question is more how much you want to spend. For ~ 165 euro you get extremely much with the 3600. As I said, if you were only concerned with Fortnite, I would even recommend the cheaper 3300x, which only costs ~ 130 euro, has a higher clock rate than the 3600 and lower latency, since it is a monolithic CPU. As a complete package, the CPU is weaker because it only has four cores with SMT instead of six like the 3600 …

Gu

Thank you for your detailed answer which I see will take note. One more from you (since I do not exactly know the name) you could assemble my components with your information (left etc.) so that I do not have to search for hours

Gu

-AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.60 GHz

-MSI B450M Pro-VDH Max AMD B450 So.AM4 Dual Channel DDR4 mATX Retail

-NVIDIA GTX 1660 super OC (6GB KFA2)

-16GB (2x 8192MB) G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3000 DIMM CL16-18-18-38 Dual Kit

-240GB Patriot Burst 2.5 "(6.4cm) SATA 6Gb / s (PBU240GS25SSDR)

-1000GB Toshiba P300 High-Performance HDWD110UZSVA 64MB 3.5 "(8.9cm) SATA 6Gb / s

-400 watts be quiet! Pure Power 11 Non-Modular 80+ Gold

would that be a little better?

615 euro

Bo

No, my config is better, otherwise I would not have created it…

Your config:

https://geizhals.eu/?cat=WL-1641984

You already know mine:

https://geizhals.eu/?cat=WL-1617786

I was so free to add a good cooler to your config (otherwise you can forget OC) and the 3.2GHz RAM instead of 3GHz.

So

The mainboard does not fit. You need one with the LGA 1200 socket and a Z490 mainboard would be the best choice for the i5 10600K.

There's also only one version of the i5 10600K, maybe you mean the i5 10400F.

The power supply could be a little bigger, but it doesn't have to be.

Gu

Ok but isn't the cooler built into the CPU? Don't know me well 😂

Bo

A stick cooler, yes. This is okay with the standard clock, but not if you want to overclock.

And if you want good fps with the 3600 in Fortnite you will overclock.

Gu

Ok thanks for everything. Helped me very well you can give it a 5 star here
