I have a little problem. The point is that, despite a good PC, I achieve very few fps in Fortnite. My PC contains an RTX2060 graphics card and an Amd ryzen 5 2600x processor. Other people with the same components get up to 250 fps in a game while I only get around 60-140. I've had the problem for a long time. I have already watched every video and adjusted all settings in Fortnite as well as on my PC to achieve as many fps as possible. However, all of this is of no use. Since I'm not a PC expert, I hereby ask for your help because I have already given my best.
I have a suspicion that your main memory is the culprit… Let me guess, you have installed 1 module which also runs at well below 3000mhz?
So now I looked and you were right. I only used 1 slot (I assume you mean that with module), which is really clearly below 3000mhz, my RAM only has 1200mhz. Should I get a new ram?
I think I'm going to buy a new RAM and urgently need a purchase recommendation. As I said, I now have 1200mhz DDR4 and 16.0 docks.
Yes, 2 modules with 3200mhz are usually the best solution… 2x8gb 3200s eg the AEGIS… Cheap and does what it should
Thanks a lot for your help. I have already looked at and compared some purchase recommendations and came across this here. What would you recommend more to me? Does 3200 and 3600mhz make a big difference? And don't you think it might be better if I had 32gb ram?
This is the link for the product I want to buy: https://www.amazon.de/...07Z86BMCQ/
Yes of course more is always better… Faster is better… Only it can happen with the r5 2600 that the 3600mhz does not want to swallow and you have to set the RAM to 3200 so that it becomes stable… You have to test it… If necessary a Ryzen5 Get 3600 -> the RAM support is better… A BIOS update can also help when it comes to that:-)
Hmm this is really a difficult decision for me now. Do you happen to know whether a ryzen 5 can take 2600x 3600mhz or do you know where I can look it up?
And I'm sorry if I'm a little annoying, but as I said, I'm not an expert. I would like to know if my mainboard supports 3600mhz at all. I have a msi A320M-A pro.
Officially the CPU does not support this, but it will work anyway… The mainboard, the RAM and the CPU in combination are all decisive… It is not possible to use every 3600 RAM in every size in every board and in 2 or 4 modules… Some combinations are stable others do not… It makes sense to bring the BIOS up to date using biosupdate
on the board side there's the support point where there's everything
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/A320M-A-PRO
There are also so-called QVL lists in which possible RAM combinations are listed… Your board seems to support a maximum of 3466mhz but normally officially 3200s… I would buy 3200s or 3400s and let them run on either 3000/3200 or 3400mhz, depending on what works… Maybe you have to go down to 2933 or 2800mhz but at the latest then it is definitely stable
Thank you Radon for all of your help, you are the first to help me. I have now decided for 32gb and 3200mhz.
Yes, I wish you all the best… After the use you will have to load the XMP profile in the BIOS to set the memory to its speed
Should I actually do a BIOS update before I install the new modules or only afterwards? And then I look at the XMP on Youtube.
You can do that now… More recent BIOS versions usually optimize the microcode and memory support… Sometimes other little things that add up to make the whole thing better / more stable:-) sometimes even better CPU performance is possible:-) mostly sit there all settings in the BIOS to standard, so if fan curves are defined it would have to be set again, for example… So don't be alarmed if something doesn't work immediately afterwards or is different:-)
make the update directly in the BIOS with the previously downloaded file and note if something is described, such as installing at least the other version before one version or the like
