Fortnite low FPS despite a good PC?

Yesterday I completely replaced my PC. I had around 100 FPS with my old setup in Fortnite with strong drops to 50 FPS while building and fighting.

My old system:

-Gigabyte GA-970

-AMD FX 6300

-12 GB DDR3 RAM

-GTX 1050 ti mini

-600w power supply

However, on my new system I only have around 100 FPS with strong drops when building and fighting. Since I'm competitive, that's really annoying.

My new system:

-Aorus B450 Elite

-Ryzen 5 2600x

-16 GB DDR4 2400mhz (single channel)

-GTX 1650 great

-600w power supply

On Youtube I see that people have around 250 fps with the same settings. Why do I have so little Fortnite? COD on ultra runs at 80 FPS. Every other game runs completely smoothly.

CPU utilization runs at around 40% and the graphics card is around 50% utilization. Fortnite has already been reinstalled, and so has Windows. The temperature of the graphics card is 63 degrees and that of the CPU is also around 63 degrees.

As a possibility I have already considered that I use single channel. But since everything else runs smoothly and has more FPS, I don't think it's because of that.

no

Forrnite can't manage a reasonable utilization. You can see from the numbers.

Ma

What can you do about it? I mean with all the streamers and everything works without any problems.

me

Because they don't have 1650 either

Ta

Probably because of the somewhat weak graphics card… And your SC-RAM is certainly not entirely innocent. So maybe you should think about a second module for dual channel?

I hope you haven't installed your old hard drive in your new pc if so you have to completely reset it because the drivers won't work properly. If the hard drive is new, maybe download all the drivers if you haven't already done so. I would also buy an extra ram stick because with a dual channel you would have 10-40% more power with just a few small euro

Ma

I informed myself that since Windows 7 it is no longer necessary to reinstall everything because the system automatically recognizes everything and deletes the old drivers.

Only Fortnite runs with so little FPS. Everything else has been running smoothly since the upgrade. It's really annoying that it only appears in my main game.

Pa

Fortnite is just a very poorly optimized game, it also has little fps and drops

Ta

A clean installation is always better, however. And if you don't have an SSD yet, you should switch to it…

Ma

Weak graphics card? This is not a weak one. I can gamble everything on ultra or high with it. There are also videos from Fortnite on Youtube where people have 250 FPS with the same setup.

Yes, I'll get another RAM anyway, but I don't think it's just because everything else is going much better.

Ma

It's not the graphics card. Others have 250 fps with the same setup.

Ma

I already have an SSD. HDD would no longer be bearable. I will only do a clean installation in an emergency because otherwise I would have to reinstall 500 GB of games. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

wa

You still have to update your nvidia drivers from the website. Or download fornite again, maybe it's some kind of error

me

Maybe a lot of rubbish is running in the background

me

I also looked at everything on epic should run at 70fps with a 1650

Ma

I already have

Ma

It just doesn't do what it should consistently above 144 fps.

no

Yes then everything is as it should be

Ma

No, because I'll get a 144hz monitor soon and it doesn't make sense if it doesn't even manage 144 fps on low, which it should easily do.

no

On epic you only get the card with an average of 70fps. You don't get a 144hz monitor if you only have a 1650 super.
