I have the following problem.
Some time ago I wanted to play the game Red Dead Redemption on the PC. I bought it from the Epic Store, downloaded it and wanted to start it. There was an error message that the initialization of the graphics device failed. I didn't think anything bad, but then I couldn't play other games either I couldn't open GTA 5 or Fortnite, but also other games, launcher and Word. I then sent my computer back to Mediamarkt, it came back yesterday and I can now play Fortnite and so on.
Do you think I can now install Red Dead Redemption without being afraid that the same thing will happen?
P.S.: My computer is from Hurrican and I have an Nvedia 1060 6GB as a graphics card and an Intel i7 as a CPU.
Senseless question. Install it and you will see what happens.
Try it out It sounds like your graphics card has broken and has been replaced under warranty or the laptop has been replaced.
If it broke again I would probably have to wait 3 weeks for it to be repaired
Did someone tell you what was fixed on the PC?
I hardly believe that the game breaks your PC, but rather that it happened at that very moment. Perhaps the graphics card was defective or only the graphics card driver was faulty.
So I recommend you try again. Because your PC must be able to play Red Dead Redemption.
Just make sure that you do not download any dubious programs and do not visit dubious websites, otherwise some viruses will end up afterwards, etc. On the computer, at worst they shut everything down.
The test report only said that they had reset the operating program and updated the BIOS firmware, after which my PC went through all the tests.
Yes, I understand your concern… But look at this example:
If the car went chewing when I started up Mountain X… And after the repair it went again, … But I'm afraid that the car would break again if I started up Berg X again…
Do you understand what I mean? The car has to drive up the mountain! And your PC has to play "Red Dead Redemption"! 😀
As I said, the test report only said that they reset the operating program and updated the BIOS firmware, after which my PC went through all the tests.
Where you are right
All right, then it was probably just a software driver problem. However, since all other people can play Red Dead Redemption without any problems, it would be illogical that this game breaks the driver.
