I can't decide between an i5 4460 with 8 gave ram or an i5 6500 16 gb ram both each with a gtx 1050 which will later be replaced with another graphics card. Which cpu is the best way to play the current games? And which is better for games like rocket league and fortnite for 144fps gaming?
I5 6500 is better…
If you then still have 16 GB Ram and the 1050 (no recommendation, rather save something and switch to a representative of the AMD side) then that would eig already fit.
If you play in Full HD, the CPU might be a bit limiting, but in higher resolutions, the graphics card will be used more anyway…
The i5 6500 is a little better, but makes little difference. The i5 4460 is useful if you still have old components such as motherboard or ddr3 memory.
Whereby with a GTX 1050 higher resolutions, than FullHD are rather not drinny because of the only 2GB VRAM.

With a RX580 or so you can already get a taste of WQHD
