Xbox controller without headphone input at fortnite?

I play fortnite on the xbox, but this was given to me and the controllers have no connection for headphones but only for a headset (included). So I have the sound only on the TV (I can of course connect headphones to the TV, but then can't talk with friends in spielechat). Does anyone have a solution without me having to get myself a new controller?

Why do not you use the included headset?

Otherwise there's an adapter for the controller…

You could try using a USB adapter to connect the headphones directly s.der xbox but do not know if that works, I only know that it works on the Ps4
