No, it gets worse. With a direct LAN connection, i.e. No powerline, you normally get the best speeds, ping times and general stability.
WLAN has a disadvantage with ping because it is technically quite complex and accordingly leads to delays. It gets worse with an amplifier because the signal has to be received, processed and sent again by the amplifier, which of course also leads to delays.
