How can you replenish your team in Fortnite (PS4)?

So if I want to play in duo or team mode, I always play alone. I have also been informed a bit and somewhere you should have a function with which you can then fill up the team. But where? Supposedly, this will work with R3, but then I know only my emotes are displayed. Does anyone have the solution?

You have to go to your friends menu on anyone, press X and then click on "invite", eig. Quite simply!

But I do not want to play with my friends, but with Random added people…
