Yesterday I changed mine from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 7 5800x with the NZXT Kraken X73 water cooling. When I play Fortnite, for example, the CPU already reaches 75 - 80 degrees. Isn't that way too much? I haven't even overclocked yet.

The cpu gets pretty hot by default, amd said that the cpu is designed up to 95 degrees, that's probably the reason why there's no box cooler included.

Others report similar temperatures, so this seems normal. Although it seems high, it is still well below what the CPU can handle.

Okay, should you still make settings in the BIOS?

I have no idea, I also have a 5800 lying around at home, but I'm still missing other components. What I've written relates to what I've read. With undervolten the temperature could be forgotten, but I'm not familiar with that. Mine will run out of box like this.

(should actually be a comment, I slipped)
