Maybe I'm crying a little here but it's just enough.
So, first my PC: RTX 2060, Ryzen 5 3600 and 16 GB 3200 MHz RAM, 600 watt power supply.
So, I'm playing Fortnite. If it goes on like this, soon it won't. I play at 165 FPS, drops to 20. I play at 60 FPS. Drops to 20. I have Performance Mode in there, everything on low. I play at 200 FPS, drops to 20.
SSD, RAM, CPU and GPU are at 10-30% load during gaming, and the temperature of 40-60 ° is also good.
Is Fortnite really programmed that stupid? I just can't play because it's so unbelievably laggy, in Salty or Lazy I have 40 FPS almost continuously.
Is normal for Fortnite. In some places it is just because it is badly optimized.
Could it be that you have activated Vsync because I do not have that with a 1050
No is disabled
Yes, that's not normal, have 20-50 FPS more than 160 …
Yep, since Chapter 2 the game was really broken. ^^
Well, in my opinion, it has nothing to do with programming. Many things could cause the laggs. I myself have a GTX 1650 and r3 3200g at the highest settings 100 to 200 fps. (overclocked but with a very minimal bottleneck)
OK weird, because it's just a little badly optimized with the locations
Doesn't help me any further.
Not just a little bad, but abnormally horribly bad
Do you think it will be better next season?
I don't know, probably not. ^^
Then off to the trash can. It makes me sick when it lags like that
Since chapter two, the game has been similar to Warzone in terms of optimization.
So yes it is because it is not well developed.
But actually your GPU should run at 99% while playing. Otherwise something is capped somewhere.
Yes, I capped the FPS sometimes to 160 then sometimes to 240.
Well, I quote "Is Fortnite the worst performance game ever?" to say again, no
I think it should clear itself up. Rather believe it is due to the hardware. Especially if the GPU is only 10 to 30 percent utilization.
Nope, not that bad either.
The problem must be more with your PC. The graphics card should be used to 100%.
Possibly old driver remnants on it, not the latest driver installed or hard drive or RAM cause problems. Maybe unstable overclocking too. Can have many causes.
The internet connection should of course also be good, otherwise there are of course also lags.
Possibly old driver remains on it
How do I know? And I capped my FPS to 160-200
Yes, because I capped the FPS to 160
The capping of FPS changes absolutely nothing at the load in your case. Especially if you can't even make it smart in performance mode. I capped it myself to test it. And don't see any difference. Capping FPS should normally only bring stability to your FPS values.
Capping also makes sense. Ideally at the refresh rate of the monitor or just above it if you are not using sync
Have you changed your graphics card lately? Then old driver scraps could be left. Can you get away with e.g. DDU.
Just about everyone commenting on here doesn't know what they're talking about, no offense. I have a pretty solid computer science background, I've coded for 20 years (since I was a kid), worked with directx a lot in the past, and I've played quite a few games over the years. Fortnite has unique performance issues among popular gaming titles. The only time I've seen a project have this many problems is when it's disorganized, or in cs terms, has spaghetti code. The game not only has serious client-side performance issues, but game or computer crashing bugs as well. Those bugs are probably related to scheduling issues with the GPU from the testing I've done. In other words, it's jumbling things together. That also can be seen with input: Fortnite will often skip or re-order input while frames are hitching. There are probably a good amount of memory leaks as well. I've contacted them about the issues, explaining in explicit detail all of the issues I've experienced, tweaks I've tried, as well as testing I've done. They really just have a generic copy-and-paste response to just about anything you bring to their attention. Moreover the competitive community is pretty vocal about the performance issues, all of which are pretty identical to yours and mine. The best computers on the market can't run this game in a consistent and stable way. Another thought that I haven't tested or looked into is how Fortnite behaves with bottlenecking. In other words, when either you GPU or CPU (and maybe even RAM) are not perfectly on par with each other, how does it impact Fortnite? If that's a source of serious performance loss then that's also a problem on their end. A good and stable game should be able to adapt to such situations. The bottom line is, your issues with performance are valid, common, and not being addressed by Epic Games. I don't know what to say besides that. There's no solution that I'm aware of.
Yes Fortnite is horribly optimized one of the worst currently playable online. Also you might wanna look at 650 to 750 wattage for ur peaks. 600 is a little to low for ur set up al tho the exact minimum i guess. Gl
