Is the game advantage the same when you have over 144 fps?

So I have a 144 hz monitor and would normally have exactly 144 fps with v-Sync. However, my question is if I had v-Sync off and over 200 fps (fortnite) I would have a greater gaming advantage than before (with 144 fps )? I would still see 144 fps but would the gameplay change itself?

Ta

As you said, you would only see 144 anyway. I turn off Vsync that this can lead to input latency

Te

With more FPS you will get newer frames displayed. That means you will see everything that happens sooner than at 144FPS. But it is only a noticeable difference if you really test the response time.

Gu

Yes, however, I would have a greater advantage in the game

Gu

So with more fps I would have a better reaction time and thus a greater gaming advantage

Co

You're as good or bad without VSync as you are with VSync.

Ac

You can't say that Vsync often causes huge input lag

Co

Spoke one of the world's greatest players in… Tetris.

Te

Exactly.

du

The difference between 144 and 200 fps is 1.9 milliseconds. The average reaction time to an optical stimulus is around 200 milliseconds. Your advantage is - purely mathematically - almost exactly one percent. - respect! It's worth it!

Gu

Thank you very much!

Ac

Is that jealousy speaking or where does the unfounded front come from?

Te

Well, for changing an attitude, why not.

To have or not to have 2ms.

By the way, I think you must have miscalculated, the difference between 144 and 165 was bigger in my memory.

Out of interest: is that supposed to be an insult with Tetris? Because Tetris is "easy"?

Ad

Gegsoft invoice is correct. At 144fps haste every 6.9 milliseconds. Nen new frame. And at 200fps every 5 milliseconds a new frame.

That the monitor only delivers a new frame every 6.9 milliseconds. No matter how much FPS you have. Fürth that you get a maximum of half a picture earlier. (Screen tearing)

Co

Jealousy? On what? Asserting is not proving!

Co

It's about VSync… Tetris and VSync… Notice what?

Ad

No sorry. I just don't understand the connection.

Ac

I would have proven it to you, had you not met me like an envious person, have fun in your life

du

Right! - The problem with half images when the new images arrive at the wrong time. It's definitely better at 144 fps. Such problems do not arise there.

sp

You're still seeing 144 FPS so it doesn't do you any good. It can also happen that the monitor is overwhelmed with the many incoming frames and you then have a characteristic "cut" in the picture. In other words, the monitor is already showing half of the next image. This is really ugly and you can't see anything anymore. Technologies like V-Sync were developed to prevent this.
