No fps difference between 1920x1080 and 1280x720?

Why am I not getting more fps in Fortnite when playing at low quality? When I didn't have a graphics card, you clearly noticed the fps difference between the two quality settings, you got significantly more fps at 1280x720, as it should be. But since I got my graphics card (Rx 570 OC 8Gb), it doesn't matter what quality I play, nothing changes.

Usually I have around 120Fps on average at 1920x1080, which is not a bad thing in itself, but in Competitive I end up with only around 60-70 Fps when everything is built up, which is why it gets very laggy. My idea was that in Competitive I simply gamble on 1280x720, but the fps are exactly the same as when I gamble on 1920x1080.

Do you have to disable that somewhere in the driver settings or something? Do not understand why with poor quality you have exactly the same fps as in Full HD.

Would be happy if someone can help me there.

What CPU do you have? That can limit in advance.

Ch

Because you are now in the CPU limit with the new graphics card. You will only get more FPS with a lower resolution if you are in the GPU limit.

What can I do about limiting?

Sc

Upgrading or overclocking, the latter brings very little.

So does that mean that I can't change anything because my CPU is too weak?

Ch

The only sensible thing you can do is buy a better CPU. The best is a Ryzen 5 3600.

Se

As has already been said here, it is probably due to the CPU. I find it very funny that you call 70 FPS "laggy".

In GTA 5, Call of Duty Warzone and Far Cry Primal, 70Fps are very smooth and pleasant to play. Fortnite is structured very differently and here 70Fps do not feel as good as in other games, no idea what it is 😂
