I need a better processor but which one fits?

I have the Acer Predator G3-710

with a GTX 1060 3 GB

and an Intel i7 6700

I will soon get an RTX 2060 and also want to get a better processor (do you think the processor is sufficient?) but I do not know which fits on the mainboard, someone could send me a list of which processors fit on it. I would like to have an 11MB upload with my PC Fortnite in Full HD streaming

The processor should be enough. A new processor would also mean a new mainboard, which is why it is actually not worth it.

Thank you

The problem is that the mainboard only supports up to Skylake. I also have an I7 6700 and my MB only supports up to Skylake.

The processor is definitely sufficient. Never came over 60% load with the GTX 1060 6GB.

A pure processor upgrade does not make sense in your case, since you already have an i7 and the most powerful processor that runs on your mainboard is only the i7 7700k.

Intel has blocked the 8000 and 9000 series on the mainboards with chipsets for the 7000 and 8700 series and to avoid this blockage is not so easy or not useful for weaker motherboards.

For a sensible CPU upgrade, you would also need a new mainboard.

Also for streaming and playing in Full hd

The CPU should be just enough for a RTX 2060, I think. Upgrading becomes difficult. At Intel you often need a different mainboard for a new generation of CPU - this is also the case here. Upgrading to an i7 6700K makes no sense, since overclocking might give you 5%. Would recommend you upgrade to a new platform after the graphics card if you have the money. Ryzen would currently have the better price-performance ratio. Incidentally, I would consider getting a RX 5700 instead of an RTX 2060 because it has more VRAM and minimally more power.

Oh sorry wanted to press helpful

But would an i7 7700k go? Or

jo

I'm not streaming. But think that it is not a problem. However, you can increase the clock rate in the bios if you are not sure.

Sy

May require a BIOS update and is not really worth it, as I said, you already have one of the best processors for your mainboard.

For the money for which the i7 7700k is currently sold as new, you can buy a Ryzen 7 3700x and a suitable AM4 mainboard.
