Retrofitting i-2500 on Ryzen xxxx?

I want to give my daughter a new PC!

Is it worth it?

She almost always plays Roblox, Mindcraft and sometimes Fortnite (but very rarely)

The existing PC:

Intel i5-2500 with H-chip

2 x 4 GB RAM

120GB SSD

Nvidia GT 1030

Power supply 380 W

I thought of one:

AMD Ryzen 1400

2 x 4GB RAM

250 GB SSD

RX570 8GB

B450 motherboard

Is that a gain or should I just expand the GT1030 in the Intel system and swap it with a RX570 8GB.

Vi

I would probably only use a RX570 8GB in the "old" system.

The improvement is probably around 20% -25%, whether the worth?

Br

Theoretically yes, otherwise a completely new system would be unnecessary

Qu

I agree with the opinion of WillEsWissen64:

Just put in the better graphics card. The rest fits so far. Especially for what you have described as purpose.

Of course, a new Ryzen system would bring more - but at what price? More economical is it only to exchange the Graka. In any case, the processor is not exactly overwhelmed by the named.

pa

I think so too. For these games hardly the comparatively still suitable CPU is likely to be the bottleneck.

And a new psu

Gu

Yes, the 2500 is still ok, for modest games is enough.
And if I would not upgrade to a R5 1400, but rather to the much faster R5 2600, it currently costs just 120 euro.

A RX 570 8GB is also reasonable, currently the 4GB Sapphire Pulse for 115 euro is the cheapest. But there are always special offers, the other day was the 8GB Pulse for 120 euro to have.

In addition, I would also replace the power supply, with 380W nominal power that is probably something very old (Antec EarthWatts?) Without enough connections.

Vi

I think the 380W should be enough, the RX takes about 150W in the maximum, + Intel's system with about 120W in full load

I thought everything went much better!

Gu

When?

je

So I need a new PSU?

je

Not even with Minecraft?

je

Well with the Ryzen 1400 computer.

Qu

Of course, everything would be better if the whole system was more powerful. But is that really necessary? That's the real question.

I say therefore: rather no. Let the Intel continue to work and then in a year may be more money for a Ryzen 3 system placed on the counter.

Vi

Not really, I think that probably will not play more than 1080p

Vi

I think no. I already explained that above. Of course I can be wrong.

je

Thank you!

Gu

The old 2500 may be limiting in some games like elaborate simulations, but at Minecraft and Co. That should not make a difference.

Qu

I'm sitting here with a great AMD FX6300 with HD7800 as a graphics card and can do everything I want. Okay, sometimes it gets tough when the others show me their fancy new titles on their giant monitors.

Only… What do I play with it? Just. That's enough.

Gu

With 380W rated power I can't think of a reasonably modern power supply. This will probably be as old as the CPU, at best Antec EA or Seasonic S12II, but they all have no 8-pin PCIe.

je

Yes that's right. Has a 22 "TFT with a maximum of 1080P
