40-50 FPS despite good PC?

In games like LoL or Fortnite I usually have 40-50 FPS, sometimes 60 but not constant, despite the lowest graphics setting. Everything on my PC is also optimized for performance, CPU capacity, energy saving settings, latest drivers, etc.

I've been thinking of buying a new PC for a long time, as I always hear that my PC is not as bad as it reflects the performance, but I'm starting to see no other way out…

Are there any settings / things that I have overlooked that slow down my PC, or is my PC not as good as I suspected and should I just buy a new one, or replace certain parts?

My PC (Windows 10 64-bit):

AMD Radeon R9 380, AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor, 8.00GB RAM

No, the PC is really not the best anymore. If you want to buy a new one, how much do you want to spend on it?

Have almost no idea in which price range, a better PC with a constant 60FPS starts upwards, but more than 1500 euro I can't (yet) afford

ly

1500 euro are more than enough.

Ex

That's the point. How much can you spend (1500 is more than exaggerated)? If you want to play Fortnite ect with 60 FPS, 800 euro are enough. But I should say that the price comes in DIY. Would you build your own PC?

Mhh so bad he is not only a little older. I would if you want to upgrade, first buy a new processor with motherboard and ram (Ryzen 5 2600, Am4 motherboard, 2x8gb ddr4 Ram)

Re

Your PC is older and as "good" I would not call it anymore.

Do not need to buy everything new. It's best to try for yourself where the bottleneck is, in the game you play the most:

Show tool for FPS install e.g. MSI Afterburner
Write down FPS in your default settings
Reduce resolution in the game to the smallest possible (640x480 or smaller)
Write down FPS in the same game scene

Then compare the two values. There are two possibilities:

FPS are the same. You need a stronger CPU.
FPS much higher at low resolution. You need a stronger graphics card.

Okay, not directly myself, but my dad would help me with that, he knows it. Concrete suggestions / pages / offers, which I should look at?

Al

Thank you, that makes the whole thing clearer!

I'll send you the list of parts right away. In your place, I would do it completely myself so you learn it the best, do not go wrong.

Al

Let's see, but thanks!

Re

I can see right now, your budget is 1500 euro. But you get a PC that can do much more than just 60 FPS at 1080p. He can then WQHD or 4K or VR.

I like to find out what.

Ex

These are the parts, I still ne fat RGB lighting with purely packed (as your friends are really jealous). If you do not want that, I can take it away too:

My budget is a maximum of 1500 euro, if not otherwise. I do not need an overly blatant PC, 60-100FPS are enough for me, and my games do not have to be high or ultra, so I'm not so picky. My point is that my games finally run smoothly, even if I have to play them on the lowest graphics. In summary: good value for money, which does not blow up the frame but starts somewhere in the middle.

Al

Thanks for your efforts, as my PC looks like I actually do not care, but still thanks.

I let it all go through my head, for now it's more than enough info, I think I'll upgrade the processor and then keep looking.

Ex

!DANGER!

if you want to upgrade your CPU but useful you need to upgrade the motherboard, ram and possibly also power supply. I'll make you another ne config where I neglect the look

Wi

Then you will probably be happy with 700 euro, since the amd graphics cards are pretty cheap (RX580)

Wi

Make sure you have a 8gb rx 580 at konfi, as 4gb will likely be tight in the future. Costs only 200 euro

Ex

So have it overworked again, you just have to take over the changes in the red box above

Ex

Thanks for the hint, should be 8gb. But have it corrected in the revised config

Al

Thanks for all the help, really! I'll get back to you when the time comes.

Ex

No thing, if anything else is available

Re

Sorry that I find the time to answer you.

There are actually good offers in every price range. They are all faster than your system, but that's not difficult ^^

Reduced to the minimum. 600: https://geizhals.de/...WL-1150460

Very quiet, ready for overclocking, very fast for gaming as well as rendering and video editing. 1300 euro: https://geizhals.de/...WL-1149277
