I know no one can give a real answer to my questions, but I hope for realistic and future-oriented. So, Fortnite is releasing a so-called performance mode for poorer PCs that meet the minimum requirements today at 10 a.m. And promises a "significant FPS boost". Now my question is this:
How much more FPS can you expect on an old computer and will the quality drop even more? Play at 720p with all settings on low.
That depends on the performance of your computer
GTX 1050 8GB RAM AMD A12-9800e
I don't think that's enough for 60 fps
CPU: Intel i5-8265U with 1.60 GHz
RAM: 8 GB RAM
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620
FPS before: 24 frames / sec.
FPS after: 61 frames / sec.
This is an official example from Fortnite. Is my PC so much worse than a normal laptop?
No, that's relatively decent. If you enjoy what you have…
So is my system better or worse?
I do not know that. I would guess that yours is better, because laptops never actually reach 60 FPS unless they are gaming laptops.
Okay, I'll just have a look today for the update but thanks for your answers. Have a good time.
