My latency on my PC in Fortnite, for example, changes whenever I turn off my PC and play again after a few hours. Sometimes it's higher, sometimes lower. What can that be? I also don't change anything in the settings.

When data flows from your computer to a game server, it takes time because the data has to travel across multiple nodes through the WWW, and this can be quite tedious at different times of the day. The answer then also comes back with a delay. These delay times are called latency and can be measured with what is known as ping. For shooters, the value should be below 50 ms, but anything below 100 is not a problem in normal games.
The behavior of your internet connection is completely normal.
Got a 0-10 ping
But always have a ping below 20ms
