Why is my microphone still on when I have it off?

I wanted to ask My mic is still on when it's off? I have push the talk on and you can still hear me, do you have to do anything to make it go off? Please reply quickly thanks! (goes through Fortnite)

Well the simplest would be to pull the plug, otherwise activate the background filter and the like, if there's one.
