Constantly ping breaks in gaming despite fiber?

I switched my Internet provider in September because an action by SWN (Stadwerke Neumünster) offered a free switch to fiber optics. Well, all well and good BUT my download speed has improved by only 5 mbs (it used to be 3mbs) but VERSPROCHEN have been well over 100 + mbs! In Fortnite (with the old internet) I had a 30-40 ping which was absolutely ok. After the change, however, a 10-20 ping which is a really good improvement. But always during the game is at the top screen 'time out detected' 'and suddenly have no control over the play figure and can't do anything. This settles after 3-10 seconds and repeats every 10 minutes. The old internet was, in my opinion, as far as gambling 100% better. By the way, I have a Wi-Fi stick Fritz! NT v2 Could that be the problem?

Uff I once had such a similar problem of all, but then I got from 30Ping to 890 high then again down and timeout with me, everything was fixed with a new router.

What exactly did you get for a new connection? Did you also get a new router with the connection? If so, the problem could lurk here. From the orientation of the antennas on the router via the choice of the channel or the type of encryption, this can now be everything…

my suggestion: give you a trial run a long lan cable and try so that obs gets better.

We have a Fritzbox 7490th The router is the same. He is now only in the ground floor voher he was in the 1st floor where I have my gaming room… The lankabel would have to be very long it would have to go through the whole house xD

And how is the fritzbox connected now? Via LAN1 to a fiber optic modem? Or still over DSL if last, then it is definitely not a fiber optic connection…

Is connected via a fiber optic modem
