Why are all my games laggy and have bad graphics despite high settings?

Yesterday I received an old gaming pc (an acer predator) and I do not know anything about the technology / components of a computer.

In most games, I get more lags and e.g. The graphics at fortnite are a bit blurry and blocky, even though I've set the graphics settings ingame to high.

Is this s.der graphics card?

When I search the Internet for this video card, I find videos like people gta 5 on high play with enough fps.

Drivers should all be up to date, so I do not know what it could be

This is some extremely old and bad graphics card, the monitor resolution is absolutely out of date and the only current and good is the processor.

What graphics card do you have right now? I'm assuming you'll have something in the direction of R5 230. If this is so, the graphics card for gaming is absolutely not made, depending on what kind of power supply you have, I would recommend you a RX 570 or RX 580 (with 8GB!) (If low budget). Your i7 is still useful for today's games.

Thank you for your answer! A buddy would sell me a gt 640 for 10 euro, this would be an upgrade to my graphics card? Since my budget is very short at the moment, I would then install these and later probably switch to a better one.

Your PC is just mega old. The GPU is so and more than weak, I find an upgrade to ne rx580 8gb would not be wrong, everything about it makes no sense in this cpu

Stay away the gt640 is a lot weaker. Ne r7 has as ne performance as ne gtx750

Can one take but if the faultlessly works I can't say as a card normally 30-40 euro in good condition still costs!
