Bad performance despite good hardware?

I wanted to ask if jmd has any idea why I can't play fluently in Fortnite, for example, with high settings. I have a Nvidia gforce gtx 1050 ti 4gb and an Intel Core i5 4470 processor. My graphics settings are attached. What could that be and what can you do about it?

Bad performance despite good hardware

With these settings, I can manage 120 fps with a lot of effort

fa

Most of the performance in games eats the distance drawing and that is up to you at maximum. Additionally with high textures.

Ka

Could you recommend a good attitude?

ly

Is not there an FPS limiter active to 120?

Ma

As has been said, it looks like you have limited your FPS to 120 frames. Just say that.

Ka

But then the Fps jump from 144 to 120 all the time

Ma

You mean the jump just between these two values?

fa

If you set drawing distance to medium, everything else on medium should also work well.

Ka

No, sometimes frame drops go down to 70 fps

Ma

Are you never getting over the value of 144 frames? Then maybe a 144 Hz monitor Vsync is activated. In the game it is obviously out. Maybe in the driver?

Ka

So you mean that the driver is outdated? But for which element?

Ma

No, only if in the driver itself possibly Vsync On is.

If you look in the Nvidia Control Panel under "Manage 3D Settings" or the tool Experience. Applies only in case you never get over 144 Hz and has a 144Hz monitor.

Holzhammermethode would land the current driver at Nvidia and install. During installation do not click on Express, but users. Then put the hook below at "Make Reinstallation".

Ka

All right

Wo

Played in Season 1-5 Fortnite and then you have the graphics screwed to the minimum. This had extreme advantages because you saw boxes and opponents better. If that's still the case, you should keep the graphics to a minimum.

Ka

So put the textures low?

Wo

Everything on low except the FPS. Then you could see players and boxes from much further away. I do not know if this is still the case.
